Irish Hands

The challenge

Many creative people struggle to sell online, finding existing platforms complex, costly, or impersonal. The founder of Irish Hands wanted to create an alternative: a platform that would make it easy for makers — especially from the north west of Ireland — to sell their crafts while celebrating the heritage and story behind each piece.

The main challenges were enabling multiple vendors to sell within one platform, handling commissions fairly, and ensuring timely payouts to sellers.

Our approach

We built the Irish Hands website from scratch, choosing WooCommerce as the foundation to keep costs manageable while ensuring scalability.

Key features included:

  • Multivendor setup with vendor dashboards and commission management.
  • Automated payouts to ensure makers are paid on time.
  • Clean, minimal design that keeps the focus on products and reduces barriers to selling.
  • Onboarding support, with us helping bring the first vendors onto the platform and providing ongoing support for new sellers.

The founder leads on marketing, SEO, and PR, while we provide technical support and maintenance to keep the platform running smoothly.

The outcome

Irish Hands is now a working multivendor marketplace where creative people can sell their crafts online with confidence. Vendors benefit from a straightforward selling process, fair commissions, and reliable payouts, while customers enjoy a curated selection of products that celebrate Irish craft and creativity.

By combining strong technical foundations with vendor support, the site has created a platform that bridges the gap between artisans and buyers — helping makers from the north west of Ireland reach a wider audience.

What this shows

This project highlights our ability to build scalable, multivendor ecommerce platforms. By focusing on usability, fairness, and clean design, we can create marketplaces that support local businesses and creative communities, offering them a professional platform to thrive online.
