Our approach
We migrated the site to WordPress, handling the large content migration by exporting all pages into a spreadsheet, cleaning and restructuring the content, and importing it into a new site. Outdated news was pared back, leaving the most valuable content streamlined and accessible.
Since the national template couldn’t be used directly, we rebuilt its design and layout from scratch inside WordPress. This provided Oxfordshire with a site that looked consistent with the national brand, but was tailored to the needs of a busy local branch.
To improve performance and usability, we:
- Created custom post types to structure different types of content.
- Ensured the site was mobile-friendly and SEO-ready.
- Hardened the site’s security as part of the migration.
The outcome
The new CPRE Oxfordshire site is faster, mobile-friendly, secure, and far easier to manage. By recreating the national template in WordPress, we gave the client the best of both worlds: brand consistency with the flexibility to adapt locally.
The project was delivered on time and to budget, and the client was delighted with the process and the results:
Made in Trenbania created our new branch website in line with national guidelines. Once given the go ahead the whole process moved quickly, communication was good and technical support fast and helpful. Very happy with final result and cost.
